About Me
Television
I began my career as a film editor at the BBC - really the best way to learn the nuts and bolts of the craft. My first documentary as a producer/director was a special for Channel 4: 'Is There Anybody There?': a sceptical investigation of the paranormal. I won a special award for 'Byline: Blind to Science' and went on to make a number of Horizons for the BBC, including 'Out of Asia' and 'Atlantis Reborn'... as well as contributing to the series 'In the Blood'.
As well as science documentaries, I made arts documentaries, for example about the French composer Erik Satie and the Italian architect Renzo Piano. I have worked on most continents and directed a number of 'To the Ends of the Earth' documentaries for Channel 4, including 'Search for the Sons of Abraham'.
I have worked extensively in SE Asia.
